Application Support Specialist
Fully Remote Position with a U.S.-Based Company – Based Remotely in Mexico via UpWork
About the Role
The Application Support Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and accurate processing of Medicaid long-term care applications. Working under the supervision of the Medicaid Team Manager and in close collaboration with the Eligibility Specialist and Administrative Assistant, you will support the full lifecycle of the application process—from initial submission to ongoing case management. This role is specially designed for candidates based in Mexico who are engaged via UpWork.
What You Will Do
- Medicaid Application Management:
- Manage Medicaid long-term care applications in compliance with state and county eligibility guidelines.
- Prepare and complete application forms using provided PDF editing tools.
- Ensure that all client documentation is complete, accurate, and submitted on time.
- Team Coordination & Communication:
- Work closely with the Eligibility Specialist and Administrative Assistant to streamline document gathering, review, and submission.
- Act as the client’s advocate by maintaining clear and timely communication regarding application status updates and next steps.
- Participate actively in team meetings and update the Medicaid Team Manager on key case developments or issues.
- Agency Liaison & Process Follow-Up:
- Submit applications to government agencies using online portals, fax, or mail.
- Monitor the status of submissions by following up with Medicaid agencies.
- Research and stay current with state and county policies related to Medicaid long-term care eligibility.
- Elevate critical issues (e.g., unexpected denials, case appeals, or discrepancies) to the Medicaid Team Manager.
- Documentation & Data Management:
- Record all client and agency interactions in the CRM system.
- Securely send and receive documents using online file-sharing tools.
- Meet all deadlines associated with the submission of applications and supporting documents.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education & Experience:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–2 years of relevant experience in a professional office setting is preferred.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with Google Workspace apps (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets).
- Experience with PDF editing software and online communication tools.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and electronic document management systems is a plus.
- Personal Attributes:
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
- A proactive team player who is also comfortable working independently.
- Ability to research and understand financial and Medicaid-related processes and guidelines.
Working Hours & Employment Details
- Employment Type:
- Independent Contractor engaged via UpWork.
- Hours:
- Full-time, hourly position with work scheduled during U.S. business hours (Monday–Friday).
- Expected billable hours range between 35–40 per week, with an initial training period to establish the role’s workflow.
- Compensation:
- $12–$14 US Dollars per hour.
Home Office Requirements
- Environment:
- A quiet, distraction-free workspace is essential.
- Equipment:
- You must provide your own hardware and high-speed internet.
- A computer with a minimum of 8GB RAM, a noise-canceling headset, and an external monitor are required.
- (Tablet use is not permitted for this role.)
- Software:
- All work software required for the role will be provided by the Company.
